Speech Pathology

In the United State, 42 million children and adults have a speech or hearing problem. More than one million public school students in special education programs are categorized as having speech or language impairment. Communication disorders are the most common disability in the United States.

Speech Lanuage Pathologists (SLP) are specialist in human communicatoin. They are professionals who diagnose, evaluate and treat communication problems such as speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive disorders. SLP's are also at the forefront of research and prevention of these disorders.

Speech-Language Pathologists have masters and/or doctoral degrees from colleges and universities accredited by the American Speech-Language Association (ASHA).
