Nutrition & Diet

Aside from not smoking, the most important determinants of good health are what we eat and how active we are, according to the Harvard School of Public Health. That makes sense to me. The Food Pyramid is a great information source of what you need to stoke that engine of yours! The right amount of protein, carbohydrates, and fats can go a long way in keeping you fueled up during an extended period of moderate exercise.

Who doesn't want to be in good health? I take a lot of my cues from Men's Health magazine. Antioxidants? Yep, get a lot of those from eating all kinds of berries (blue, straw, and rasp). Veggies? Get my 5 to 9 servings eating dark green and yellow vegetables (broccoli, mustard cabbage, carrots, bell peppers). There is compelling evidence that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can lower the risk of heart diesase and stroke. It's a good reason to get your "Five to Nine"!

The internet is such a rich source of information on Nutrition and Diet. Get off your backside, grab a glass a water and start searching!
