Data
Recovery
You're tooling
along on your computer, oblivious to the blue screen that
appears once every 10 minutes or so, flashing the words, "To
Avoid Permanently Losing Your Work, Periodically Backup Your
Files", when all of a sudden your machine freezes up. You
reboot, praying that the blue screen will disappear and all
will be well again in your world. Well, guess what? You've
just lost 5 years of documents, photos, and data that will
be impossible to retrieve. Well so, I thought.
Well, that was me two years ago. Yes, I've learned my lesson
the hard way and now am a disciple of backing up my files on
a weekly basis. Data loss can come from common drive
failure, corrupted files, viruses, or accidental file
deletion, to damage from power surges, flood, smoke or
fire.
Data can be retrieved from all types of operating systems
and storage devices such as hard drives, RAID, disk arrays,
floppies, CD-ROM, DVD, backup tapes, iPods and other MP3
players, removable cartridges and digital camera media.
I got online and found a Data Recovery vendor, who
worked on my hard drive and retrieved just about everything
I thought I lost. Data loss is only temporary, and
these folks proved it.
So, if you got that sinking feeling that you've lost the
great video of your best friend doing the hula at Pinky's
Luau Show, don't fret. Data Recovery is possible and it
begins here!
