Today, the
ease of renting a car is as easy as searching the web for
the best deal. It's those little things like insurance,
additional driver, drop-off fees, and other fees that you
somehow overlook and chalk it up as part of the car rental
experience.
Your credit card company might cover the rental insurance if
you use their card. It would be wise for you to check on it
so you don't get rental insurance that is already covered by
your credit card company.
Always refuel your vehicle before you return it to the
rental company. The rental company will charge you an
exorbitant price. Their offering to fill your tank when you
return is not to save you money, but offer it as a
convenience. Take the few extra minutes and save a few
bucks.
Bring your rental vehicle back in the same condition when
you drove it off the lot. If the vehicle is full of sand,
dirt, and otherwise in a condition that is not "normal",
they will charge you a cleaning fee. This can amount to
$20-30 if not more. So save yourself the headache, treat the
car like it was your own, and forever be grateful.
Finally, to make your car rental experience less stressful,
have your bags packed prior to getting to the rental agency.
And give yourself enough time to catch that plane home!
